Helpful Tips

Painting on a curved surface is more difficult than a flat surface, therefore, it is important that you take your time and completely fill the design you create with the ink pencils or sticks.  If you don’t, it will not look professional.

When you paint over your design with water, use a small brush and paint over one color at a time rinsing your brush before you start another color.

Let it dry completely before adding any metallic penwork to the project.  Because the egg is so smooth you have to take your time and not be in a rush to do this part.

For the final glazing of the project, remember that the more layers you put on the nicer it will look.  You can even use sandpaper to make it more smooth and then put on a final layer.
