Helpful Tips

When you put your silk into the hoop remember to make sure it is taunt so that the dyes don’t go everywhere when you start painting.

Please remember to draw very lightly with your pencil onto the silk. If you draw to hard it will be almost impossible to wash out.

Make sure to connect all the lines with the resist. If there is even a small gap, the dye will leak through and run into a place where you might not want it.

Always have your resist on hand when using the silk dyes. If the dyes start to lead, immediately use the resist to fix it.
