Important:
At the end of Lesson 3, Sharon recommends that you take some acrylic paint and paint your turtle any colors you want. Lesson 4 focuses on painting and then applying Kroma Krackle – Sharon recommends that you skip that lesson. Since filming this project we have noticed that Kroma Krackle is difficult to use at times and causes frustration as a result. Sharon recommends skipping that step. Paint your turtle, let it dry, and enjoy it for years to come!
This is Sharon’s recommendation for painting the turtle.
You will use three colors of acrylic paint, including white, raw sienna, and turquoise green. Also, use a stiff bristle brush to apply the paint.
Step 1 – Using very little raw sienna, brush lightly over the turtle. Do not fill in the cracks. You will put very little paint on your brush as you do this.
Step 2 – Mix a tiny bit of turquoise with a little white just to brighten the turquoise a little bit. Then, using the same method as in step one, add a little color to the turtle being careful not to cover too much of your background. Sharon added more around the base of the shell than in other places.
This was very simple, but turns out to be a masterpiece!
