Lessons in Charcoal: Dawdling Duck

Ducks might not seem like they dawdle because when you approach them they will want to take flight. However, ducks that are raised on a farm are often seen dawdling along in the summer breeze. The sound of their voice can always be heard and you know just where the ducks are dawdling. Today we are going to learn how to draw a simple duck and make it look like it is walking off the page. Using willow charcoal, we will gently smear the shadows into it’s wings and body and as a result the duck will look real! Let’s have fun drawing this Dawdling Duck!
