Byzantine Period: Eagle in Profile (Millet Seed Mosaic)
Some of the loveliest mosaics still in existence come from the Byzantine Period of art. The Byzantines worked carefully to create elaborate and significant works of art. Some of these were functional such as mosaic floors and walls. Others were more decorative such as stained glass windows. In this project Sharon will teach students to create a millet seed mosaic. This project is designed to be simple and fun. It is a level 1 in difficulty.
