Early Renaissance Period: Red Squirrel (Egg Tempera)
In this project Sharon will teach students to mix egg yolk and spices to create a painting. Egg Tempera has been used throughout history. It was used to paint Egyptian sarcophagi, caves, and became a staple of panel painting in the Early Renaissance. Students will love creating this fuzzy squirrel. Once students learn how to create with egg tempera, they will have the foundational skills to create many more project in this media. This project is a level 2 in difficulty.
